Polaris asked us… How can we create a memorable, highly interactive experience for Creators and Press (in 30 days) that demonstrates the performance of the redesigned RZR Pro R 4 and brings elements of the Black Ops Gameplay to life?
To bolster brand awareness and reach non-traditional powersports audiences, Polaris partnered with Activision’s flagship Call of Duty® franchise. With the Polaris RZR Pro R featured as a playable vehicle in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Warzone, we collaborated to host a VIP-only Operator Training experience for hundreds of content creators, giving them a chance to experience the game and get a first look at the Cerberus RZR. The event took place at Budd’s Creek MX Park in Mechanicsville, MD, following the Call of Duty NEXT event in Washington, D.C.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 places players at the center of top-secret government agency operations where they work to find the truth amongst conspiracies. We mirrored in-game operations, with high-adrenaline challenges and strategic gameplay. Players were brought to an undisclosed location for an official briefing and divided into squads, where they rode-in RZRs just as their characters would in-game, learned stealth combat tactics through knife and ax-throwing, and honed their RC-XD driving skills through competitive races on a custom built track.
Creators were briefed by Polaris Master Operatives before embarking on a mission in the Polaris RZR. The 10-12 minute course tested acceleration, cornering, braking, and jumps, with six vehicles running simultaneously.
Creators raced custom RC-XD RZRs through a track filled with jumps, whoops, and obstacles reminiscent of Call of Duty missions.
Participants tested their precision and stealth skills with expert-led axe and knife-throwing sessions, honing their tactical abilities while creating one-of-a-kind shareable moments.
They were also able to customize their Operator Academy canteens with laser-engraved versions of their personal gamer tags.
To top it off, each RZR was outfitted with 5-6 GoPros to capture the thrill from every angle, so creators could see their training in action.
The success of Operator Academy created a global impact, reaching gamers from all couches and corners of the world and, leading to some epic results.
We transported streamers from the comfort of their home gaming stations to the adrenaline-pumping driver seat of a RZR in the remote woods of Maryland.
Bringing the in-game experience to our gamers enabled them to not just play a mission, but to live one in real life.
